WebAreas.com started as a small partnership in the mid 1990's dedicated to using the internet to bring people together in a new and unique way. In this modern age of mass production, people have lost some of the personal connections that were the weave of the fabric we call society. We desired to find unique and one of a kind objects from around the world, created by those who excel in artisanship and craftsmanship. We began with OceanicArts.com and TribalArtsDirectory.com, bringing to light the works of tribal cultures and ethnographic material worldwide. As our dream expanded, WebAreas.com became incorporated, and work on the ArtAreas.com website began in July of 1999, followed by our grand opening on Monday, January 17th, in the year 2000.
In our effort to bring unique, one of a kind items into people's lives, uniting people personally, and encouraging direct human skill and craftsmanship, we began creating a series of other websites, to promote the unique opportunities that we find, and on behalf of other talented individuals and groups from around the world who create such works.
It is our goal to continue to find the unique objects and experiences to share with people around the world, making the world a smaller, more tangible, human, and connected place in this new era of cold impersonal mass production.
